VCAT APPOINTED ADMINISTRATORS

Whether suffering personally, or watching on as a family member or friend, illness and incapacity can make it very difficult to deal with financial, business, medical and living arrangements. At Kara Legal we provide important support and advice to ensure that wishes and lifestyle choices are respected, and that trustworthy professionals are authorised to protect the interests of the person suffering with incapacity

Our dedicated Administration team assists the Administrators in their management of the financial and/or personal affairs of individuals in a personalised and efficient manner.

We have the necessary skills and experience to manage complex affairs and have developed a trusted network of expert accountants, tax consultants, financial planners, investment advisors, brokers and real estate agents to partner with us when the need arises.

How does a VCAT Administration Order work?

A VCAT Administration Order is an order made by a VCAT member formally appointing an Administrator.

This Order can cover the terms of the Administrator's remuneration, their decision-making powers and the duration of the Order. This Order can be limited in nature OR can be applied to the whole of the Represented Person's estate.

VCAT Guardianship

VCAT Guardianship is when VCAT appoints an individual as a 'guardian' to make personal and lifestyle decisions for an adult who, due to a disability, cannot make decisions for themselves. Guardians may need to make decisions about issues such as accommodation, employment, access to services, access to the person and medical treatment.

Our dedicated legal team can provide advice as to the role and decisions of a guardian and represent you in any application for guardianship to VCAT.
